Japan News: Hello Kitty in Fundoshi (man thong) banned

Hello Kitty Fundoshi, Man thong, fukuoka
NO CATS ALLOWED!!

The use of the Hello Kitty sporting a Fundoshi (a traditional Japanese male undergarment) has been banned.
The image had been created for the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival held in Fukuoka from July 1st - 15th. A festival when googled comes up with this:

Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival
Asses... Asses everywhere...
The official Japanese Tourist website describes the festival as:

"A resplendent and gallant summer festival with men racing through the streets while bearing 1-ton floats on their shoulders"

(Although, It forgot to mention the man-thongs...)

Many collaboration products were planned for the festival including this cute towel:

Oh, it's so cute!! Wait a minute...

But why the sudden ban? Because of the image is too provocative for iconic children's character? Hell no! The reason was because they didn't have permission to use the image of Hello Kitty!! Yes, you'd think that they would have checked about that before creating an image that deflowers the cute kitty.

Hey, at least they didn't try it with Disney! I'm sure if it were Mickey, they would've had their thumbs broken.
